AV Basalt, a little known but beautiful material is quarried just outside Carrara, Italy. A very consistent colour, it is durable and a good choice for commercial and domestic projects. It is of a similar background colour to the Chinese basalt but as I have mentioned, consisent. Available in large slabs for cut to size projects and more eco friendly that basalts from further afield. it is an extrusive ignious rock so resistant to acidic spills and very versatile.
